What Every Early Childhood Teacher Should Know About English
Teaching English to young children is not about following a rigid method or making them memorize vocabulary. It’s about entering their world, understanding their rhythm, and above all… playing with them.
Little ones don’t learn through translation or explanation. They learn by living the language, by feeling it. That’s why every session I offer is like a small theatre of emotions, songs, gestures, games, and surprises. The body is engaged, the senses are awakened, and the language becomes an adventure.
A good teacher of young children must first of all observe, adapt, and simplify without impoverishing. It means knowing how to repeat with enthusiasm, sing without embarrassment, and celebrate every small step forward with sincerity. Emotional bonds, a sense of safety, and shared joy create the ideal conditions for learning.
It is not necessary to speak perfect English to inspire a love for the language. What matters most is conveying energy, kindness, and the pleasure of learning together. Children sense everything — especially what comes from the heart.
So, to all those who wish to begin: be playful, be authentic, and remember that for children, every English word can become a treasure… if it is shared with love.
